I'm aware I already wrote a list of things I wanted for the 3DS, but now that the console has been announced for the US, and all the features and launch games have been explained, I figured I'd revisit my list.
New media
I didn't notice any efforts from Nintendo to share the 3D pictures (and video) taken with non 3DS owners. I want to be able to put these 3D pictures on Facebook so my friends can see them if they have a 3D display in whatever device they're using, or if they're browsing through FB on THEIR 3DS screens. C'mon, people!
Also, why wasn't Netflix announced for the 3DS? They already got a Wii deal; I want to see those movies that sucked in the theater because of the glasses WITHOUT the glasses!
Killer Apps
The whole e-shop concept is a huge mystery. Sounds like they're trying to do the right thing and trying to provide a wider range of software. Fingers crossed.
New Games
I was excited to learn of Starfox 6 and Zelda: Ocarina Of Time... I just hope they realize they gotta sell those games CHEAPER. They are, after all, old games.
Enhanced Reality
OMFG the system comes packed with AR cards! AWESOME! Keep it up, Nintendo! Next I want to see a Pokémon game in which you put actual trading cards on the table and the Pokémi spring out and duke it out epically!
3D-ified classics
E-shop, nice. What about Virtual boy games? Maannn...
Full online potential
I am absolutely in love with the new friend code system. Each console has its own code that is used on any game on the 3DS. One of the LEDs on the machine will blink to announce when a friend is online. You can then pause your game and see what they're up to.
Mii support is more than awesome, and I really hope they realize they need to make a Mii-based chat soon.
Also: SpotPass and StreetPass are just out of this world.
The system will be available in 52 days from the time I wrote this. Let's see if it can live up to my expectations!
